I had a very interesting conversation recently with a UVA Curry school researcher. We talked about the differences between the new generation of kids and our own generations. Obviously, this is not a new concept. As long as people have lived, different generations have approached situations differently and have clashed with the new generation. Coming from a higher education researcher background, data analysis and implementation based on results are crucial to me. I was proud to see my county school system using data to make informed decisions and implementing these. The data demonstrated a positive trend. However, as one of the keynote speaker expressed, we need to have more authentic and purposeful assessments.
