The case study will demonstrate to educators at schools sites and at the district office how data inquiry has improved educational planning and student performance in the Inglewood Unified School District. For years, there had been a lack of professional development and collaboration on effective data analysis. The development of data teams, training into data inquiry, and the use of an effective data management system have been a catalyst for positive change. The incorporation of professional learning communities has only been operative because of the focus on and availability of student and teacher data. Although there have been some bumps in the road along the way, such as naysayers and the lack of data analysis and technology training, the process has moved forward due to continuous professional development of key players.
