Using the Data Coach model, Wichita Public Schools (WPS) has implemented data triangulation using ACT Plan, PSAT, NWEA MAP assessments, district common assessments and classroom assessments to build a culture of school improvement. Student achievement is the focus point.

Wichita North is a large urban high school with a very diverse and high SES population. The challenges of implementing change using data to drive instruction include implementing a plan to a large staff with a high yearly turnover and multiple district-wide initiatives on the agenda at the same time. However, North has built a Professional Learning Community (PLC) focus that has enabled the building of a collaborative climate.
