Participants will leave this session with a structure for a year-long school or district improvement process that starts with a carefully crafted School Improvement Plan, includes ongoing collection of implementation and outcome data, and features monthly meetings to drive continuous improvement.

Of the 4 tasks, the most critical may not be on the list.  That is, of course, a culture of using data and buy-in for the users.  That is an important prerequisite .

**Dr. Fitzpatrick presented a process to move a school forward through the use of data to drive instructional decisions.

4 CRITICAL TASKS:
1. Data mining - what information needs to be collected and how do you collect it
2. Analyzing the data - what is the data telling us
3. Communicating the data - how do we inform stakeholders
4. Using the data - influence district, building, and classroom instructional decisions
