John Holland is a preschool teacher and an artist. When he paints the world the way he sees it, as a 4-year-old does, his paintings are much too bright and colorful. He wants to be an artist when he grows up but, he also wants to be a husband, father of two, guitar-playing nursery-rhyme-singer and hat-wearer. He is fascinated with all types of change including personal and social. Whether it is because of time, the wrecking ball or the renovation crew, the places and people he paints are often in transition. In every painting there is a sense of rhythm and music played with color.
John Holland is a National Board Certified Preschool Teacher and member of the Teacher Leaders Network. He is the only male NBCT preschool teacher in the state of Virginia. John is currently a doctoral student at Virginia Commonwealth University.
