User Notification System
Up-to-date grade and attendance information is always available to parents via ParentConnection. In addition, many parents want to receive automatic notification when their students are counted absent or when there is a change in their students’ grade status. GradeSpeed’s Triggers module is integrated with ParentConnection and allows parents and administrators to configure this notification.
Triggers are organized by student. Administrative users can create and edit triggers so that parents or other users will be notified by email, phone and/or text message when a specific event occurs. The parent will be notified via the contact information from the SMS.
Parents can also set up triggers from within their ParentConnection accounts. Notifications for triggers set up by parents will be sent based on the contact information provided in the ParentConnection account.
Flexible Options
Triggers can be set so that parents will be notified for grade or attendance events. If the “Watch Attendance” box is checked, parents will receive email/phone notification for any attendance events. The trigger can be set to “Watch Grades” and notify the parent if the grade crosses a certain threshold.
Triggers can be set to expire on a specific date. This type of notification can be set using the check boxes marked “Send E-mail” and “Phone Call.” The “e-mail” trigger will cause a notification to be sent to the guardian email address of record. The “phone call” trigger will cause a voicemail notification to be sent to the guardian phone number of record. (Note: the “Phone Call” notification method requires the use of Schoolnet’s Voice Server.
